While professional artists can produce some breath taking pieces of work, the most stunning examples of artistry are often created by Mother Nature herself. A trip to the deserts of Arizona provides the perfect example of this. On the slopes of Coyote Buttes near the Arizona – Utah border there lies a rock formation known as The Wave. The area got its name thanks to the incredible undulating form of the sandstone, that helps to transform the rock into a swaying ocean scene. Due to its unique shape and beautiful colouring The Wave is a hugely popular location with tourists. The area is made even more mystical by the fact its isolated spot can only be reached after an 8 mile hike through the Arizona desert.
