99 Cents Weddings on 09/09/09
Contrary to popular belief, it is actually possible to arrange a wedding on a fairly tight budget, but few newlyweds will have managed to have a full ceremony for less than a dollar! That was the case for nine lucky couples in September 2009 though, thanks to a special promotion by the 99 Cents Only Store in Hollywood, USA. To celebrate the 9th September 2009 (09/09/09), the store decided to hold nine separate weddings and charged the nine couples a total of 99 cents each. The first wedding began at 9.09am and took place in, you guessed it, aisle 9.
