An Underwater Wedding in a Shark Tank
Most brides have an intense fear of spilling anything on their wedding dress on their big day. This wasn’t such a problem for April Pignataro, as she decided to get married to her fiancee, Michael Curry, underwater in a white wetsuit. The New York couple are experienced divers and decided to embrace their love of the marine world by tying the knot in June 2010, surrounded by sharks rather than human guests. The pair were lowered into a 120,000 gallon shark tank at Atlantis Marine World in Riverhead, NY and used microphones to say their vows to the officiant and guests on the surface above. The couple were protected by a cage, as nurse sharks, sand sharks, a giant grouper and eels swam around them.
