While most people can only afford a simple package holiday each year, the rich and famous are able to experience a little more luxury on their trips away. Whether it would be their own personal butler service, luxurious pools and hot tubs or even a private basketball court, the rich know how to holiday in style. The following is a list of the 15 most luxurious hotel suites on the planet. While you probably couldn’t afford a single night in these incredible hotels, at least you’ll now be able to see what you’re missing out on!

Royal Penthouse Suite. President Wilson Hotel, Geneva

Geneva is home to some of the richest people in the world, so perhaps it’s no surprise that the Swiss city is also the destination of one of the most expensive hotel suites in the world. The Royal Penthouse Suite costs a staggering £53,000 per night, but you do get a lot of space for your money. The suite boasts a 1,700 square-metre terrace that overlooks the stunning Lake Geneva and has a mind-boggling 12 marble bathrooms! Guests can also sit-back and listen to the Steinway grand piano in complete comfort and security, as the suite is also protected by bullet-proof glass.

The Presidential Suite. Hotel Principe di Savoia, Milan

If you want to get pampered in style and privacy, then The Presidential Suite at Hotel Principe di Savoia is the place to stay. These luxurious chambers include your own private swimming pool (the only hotel room in Milan to do so) and a 100 square-metre private spa. The rest of the suite is also decorated with gold, velvet and leopard prints. A number of celebrities, presidents and royals have stayed in the suite and, at £12,000 per night, they’re probably the only ones who could afford to!

Shahi Mahal Suite. Raj Palace, Jaipur

If modern hotels aren’t your thing, how about staying in the Shahi Mahal Suite at the 18th century Raj Palace. This luxurious suite is like your very own hotel, with its own private entrance and an impressive four floors to explore. The lodgings are decorated in gold-leaf and ivory and include a roof-terrace with whirlpool tub, a library and even your own private theatre! All this space and luxury doesn’t come cheap though, as a single night in the Shahi Mahal Suite will set you back £28,500.

The Bridge Suite. The Atlantis Resort, Bahamas

The Bridge Suite in the Bahamas has the best of both worlds: It is part of the huge Atlantis Resort that boasts 11 pools, 14 lagoons, 18 water slides and three beaches, while the suite itself has an impressive 10 private rooms all of its own. As the name suggests, the suite is located on the bridge that connects the two hotel buildings and includes a grand piano, two entertainment centres, stunning views and even private staff of seven at your beck-and-call night and day. And the cost of having all these amenities on your doorstep: Just a small £15,500 per night.

Presidential Suite. Mandarin Oriental Pudong, Shanghai

If a presidential suite takes up the whole floor of a hotel, you know it’s going to be a little special. That’s certainly the case here, as the 25th floor Presidential Suite at the Mandarin Oriental Pudong boasts incredible views of the Shanghai skyline, as well as its own private wine cellar and bar. The suite also has two private roof gardens and one of the most impressive bathrooms in the city. You might want to empty your savings if you fancy experiencing any of this luxury though, as a single night stay will set you back over £16,000.

The Royal Villa. Grand Resort Lagonissi, Athens

When you realise that the Royal Villa is a popular holiday choice for both Leonardo Di-Caprio and Meryl Streep, you know it’s going to be pretty swanky. Guests are flown into Athens on the hotel’s own private jet and, if the flight leaves you feeling a little tired and peckish, you can even have a meal prepared by your own private chef, while your personal pianist plays a few tunes on the grand piano. If the crystal clear waters of the Aegean Sea don’t take your fancy, then you can also take a dip in either one of the indoor or outdoor private pools that are available. And the price for the ultimate in Greek luxury: Just a small £30,000 per night.

The Royal Penthouse. Corinthia Hotel, London

If you think the price of staying in a standard London hotel is a little high, you’ll definitely want to avoid the Corinthia hotel. The Royal Penthouse costs a staggering £22,000 per night but guests will be treated to one of the city’s best views of the London skyline, including Big Ben, Nelson’s Column and the London Eye. Inside, the suite is decked out with velvet and silk and a number of specially commissioned British artworks. The luxurious lodgings also include a private spa, mirrors that turn into TV screens, a wine cellar and even a fridge stocked with Harrod’s finest goods.

The Hardwood Suite. Palms Casino Resort, Las Vegas

If you’re a fan of basketball, then the Hardwood Suite in Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas is your dream come true. This luxurious lodgings include a private bar, a dance floor, a media room, a private butler service…. oh, and a full-size basketball court with locker rooms! There are even court-side doors concealing pull-out beds so, once you’re worn out from shooting all those hoops, you can literally sleep on the court and dream about basketball all night. And the cost of staying in a basketball fan’s dream apartment: Just a cool £16,000 per night.

Chairman Suite. Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

Staying in the Chairman Suite at the Marina Bay Sands is all about choice. Guests get to decide whether the colour layout of the rooms are ‘black and granite’ or ‘gold and earth’ and there is even a ‘pillow menu’ for you to decide how hard or soft a surface you like to rest your head on at night. The suite also features breathtaking views of the Singapore skyline from three separate balconies, ‘his’ and ‘her’ bathrooms, a sauna and steam room, a games room and your own team of dedicated butlers. All this choice comes at a price though, as a single night’s stay in the Chairman Suite costs £11,000. You could buy an awful lot of pillows for that price!

The Champagne Suite. New York Palace Hotel

When you hear that a hotel has undergone a $40m restoration, you might expect that the new suites would be something pretty special and the New York Palace certainly doesn’t disappoint. The Champagne Suite is exactly as it sounds; a hotel room that is designed around the luxurious fizzy wine. The lodgings include a wine cave filled with Dom Perignon, while each room is themed around a different grape of the famous label. There is even a rooftop hot tub where guests can sip on champagne while enjoying breathtaking views across the Big Apple. If that sounds like your version of paradise, then a small payment of £16,000 will get you one night’s stay in the Champagne Suite.

Ty Warner Penthouse. Four Seasons Hotel, New York

If you like a room with a view, a stay at the Four Seasons in New York is a must (albeit a very expensive one). The Ty Warner Penthouse is officially the highest hotel suite in New York and it only takes one glance out of the window to confirms this. The 400-square-metre penthouse features four glass balconies and floor to ceiling windows throughout, which provide arguably the most stunning view of the New York skyline in the entire city. The huge living area is also decorated in the finest silk, velvet and wood to provide the ultimate luxury. These breathtaking views come at quite a price though, as one night in the Ty Warner Penthouse will set you back a staggering £37,000.

Royal Suite. The Burj al-Arab, Dubai

The Burj al-Arab is one of the most famous hotels in the world (it’s designed to look like the sail of a ship) and the Royal Suite is its ultimate room. The Burj is considered by many to be the most luxurious hotel on the planet and when you stay in the Royal Suite you are sure to receive ‘7 star’ treatment. This includes a private lift to the 780-square-metre suit, a personal 24 hour ‘brigade of butlers,’ a private cinema, two jacuzzis, 17 different types of pillow and even a 24-karat gold iPad to use during your stay. Before you start booking your plane tickets though you may want to check the bank balance, as one night at ‘the world’s only 7 star hotel’ costs £15,000.

Royal Suite. Hotel Plaza Athenee, Paris

While the Royal Suite at the Hotel Plaza Athenee is undoubtedly an incredibly luxurious place to stay, the real reason for the £20,000 per night price tag is down to location. The hotel is situated right in the centre of Paris and boasts incredible views of the Eiffel Tower from both the windows and balcony. The Royal is also the largest hotel suite in Paris and provides four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a kitchen, office and two living rooms. You always know that a hotel room is worth staying in when it not only boasts a ‘pillow menu’ but also has a fingerprint scanner at the entrance!

Villa Rockstar. Eden Rock Hotel, St Barths

You may have already guessed by the name, but Villa Rockstar is basically a musicians dream holiday home. The incredible accommodation is located at the Eden Rock hotel in St Barths and features both a north and south house, private swimming pool, gym, whiskey bar, games room and even a private beach. As if that wasn’t enough, the villa also has its own private recording studio! You may well need the wealth of a successful rockstar to stay here though, as a single night will set you back £20,000. Better start selling some records!

Owner’s Villa. Cheval Blanc Randheli, Maldives

The Maldives are renowned for offering luxurious holidays, but the Owner’s Villa at the Cheval Blanc Randheli hotel really takes luxury to another level. This Jean Michel Gathy designed villa is located on its own private island and comes with a dedicated team of chefs to cook whatever food takes your fancy. It also boasts its own private 25-metre swimming pool, just in case you ever get bored of having your own private ocean to swim in! The real sign that the Owner’s Villa is one of the most luxurious hotel suites in the world though comes when you ask the cost, as the term ‘price upon request’ says it all!
