Holiday makers looking to get back in touch with nature have been able to stay at ice hotels and tree-house lodges for a fair few years now, but guests wanting to know what it feels like to stay in a real-life sandcastle have only been able to use their imaginations…. until now! The Sand Sculpture Festival in Noord-Brabant, Holland has seen the opening of the world’s first ever sandcastle hotel. The building has been designed to replicate a castle from the Middle Ages and guests can pay 150 euros a night to stay in a double room. The exterior of the castle is made entirely from sand, while the interior rooms have been reinforced by walls and coated with a layer of sand. The lucky guests will find rooms complete with sand sculptures, electricity, windows and even a fully working bathroom and shower.
