Water slides have a simple purpose: to both scare and exhilarate the rider in equal measure. While most people will think ‘the faster and steeper a slide the better’, even the bravest of daredevils might think twice before riding the Insano in Fortaleza, Brazil. This vertigo inducing ride stands an incredible 135 feet above the ground – that’s the equivalent of a 14 floor building – and held the title of the ‘tallest waterslide in the world’ until 2013. If that wasn’t enough, the riders can also reach eye-watering speeds of over 100kmph (around 65mph) going feet-first down the ridiculously steep flume. They obviously called it Insano for a good reason!
